Tux is as handsome as any dog you will ever see.  He is a 2 year old, neutered male, American Staffordshire Terrier.  He was found as a stray and brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter on April 9, 2014.  He weighs 51 pounds.

Tux is very easy to get out of his run.  He walks well on-leash and pulls a little.  On occasion, he tries to jump, but he listens to correction and responds immediately.  He wants to please his person.  Tux loves to be with people.  he is not that interested in toys and would rather hang out with someone.

His name is Goliath and he’s a big boy, weighing in at 70 pounds.  Goliath is a 3 year old, neutered male, American Staffordshire Bull Terrier.  He has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since March 12, 2014.

Goliath is described as a “super friendly” dog by the volunteers who have worked with him.  He is easy to handle and get out of his run.  He knows his basic commands of Sit, Shake and can even Roll over.  He is treat-motivate and has a soft mouth.

Sutter is a true gentleman dog!  He has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since March 22, 2014, and he is quietly waiting for his forever home.

Sutter is a 7 year old, neutered male, Blue Merle Catahoula Leopard Hound, and with credentials like that, he is quite a find.  He is about as gentle and mellow a dog as you will ever find.  He weighs 63 pounds.

What a handsome dog Kirby is!  He is a 1 year 4 month old, neutered male, American Pit Bull Terrier.  He has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since January 11, 2014 - much too long!  Kirby weighs 53 pounds.

Kirby is a strong dog who jumps a lot in his run, but not in the play yard.  He is so eager to get out of his run that he can be a little mouthy when the collar is put on him.  Kirby is a young dog with a lot of energy and being cooped up in a cage for 4 months is difficult for any dog.  he just wants to play and be with his favorite people.

Wally is a sweet and gentle dog.  He was found as a stray on March 8, 2014, and sadly, no one came looking for him.  Wally is a neutered 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier.  He weighs 54 pounds.

Wally is a little timid when he first meets his person. He is very easy to handle and will follow his person closely when walking.  He doesn’t pull at all.

Is this the face of love and laughter?  This is Gigi.  Gigi is a 1 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier.  She has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since March 28, 2014.  She weighs 58 pounds.

Gigi was very shy when she first came to the shelter.  But now she knows what fun it can be to come out of her run and into the yard…where she can be with her favorite volunteers, enjoy her belly rubs and just hang out.  She walks well on-leash and has been on the neighborhood walks.

Dakota is an amazing 3 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was found as a stray on March 15, 2014.  She weighs 48 pounds.  When found, she showed signs of neglect with a serious skin infection.  Shelter vet and staff gave her amazing care to which she responded beautifully.

Bobo is a real cutie!  One ear stands straight up and the other one flops down.  When she first came to the shelter as a stray on February 5, 2014, she had a serious ear infection which kept her in the medical area for a long time.  She has now recovered and is a happy, spunky dog just waiting for her forever home.

Bobo is a 6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier.  She weighs 54 pounds.  She is a little cautious and shy when she first gets out of her kennel and meets new people, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up and start wagging her tail.  She is described by the volunteers who have worked with her as a great dog who is super sweet.

A sweeter, more gentle dog you will never find!  Misty is a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take her long to relax and become the easy-going, happy dog that she is.  Misty is a 4 year old American Staffordshire Bull Terrer.  She weighs 47 pounds.

Misty’s tail wags nonstop when she knows that she is getting out of her kennel and into the yard to play.  She walks well on-leash and is easy-to-handle.  The tail continues to wag.  She is a happy girl who loves being with people.  Misty is a curious dog but welcomes human attention.  She has been tested with other dogs and did well.

Alley is a beautiful 2 year old brown brindle American Staffordshire Terrier who has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since February 15, 2014.  She weighs 53 pounds.

Alley is a very calm, affectionate, medium- to low-energy dog that one volunteer describes as “super chill.”  She walks well on-leash and does not react to the other dogs in the kennel.  She is a pleasure to take on street walks and does not react to the people that she passes on the street.  She pays close attention to her handler at all times.

Seal is a 7 year old, neutered male Dachshund mix who was found as a stray and has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since February 20, 2014.  He weighs 20 pounds.

One of his favorite volunteers describes him as being a like a “little pillow.”  She said you just scoop him up and cuddle him close.  He is a volunteer favorite at the shelter.  He was transferred to West LA from the South Central Shelter in the homes that he might find a home.  His kennel mates get adopted but still he awaits for that forever home that he so longs for.

Daryll is a neutered 1 year old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was found as a stray and has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since January 23, 2014.  He weighs 49 pounds.

Daryll is really just a pup in need of a person or family willing to work with him and teach him basic manners.  Life in a cage is tough on any dog, but especially hard on a high-energy, young dog.  He needs to get out of his cage more where staff and volunteers can work with him.

Charlee is a little cutie but that hasn’t helped her find a home.  Charlee is a 7 year old smooth-coated Chihuahua.  Sadly she was found as a stray on March 15, 2014 and brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter.

When Charlee first came to the shelter, she went unnoticed because she tucked herself in the little crate in the kennel and slept.  But if you called her name, she came running out.  She loves to cuddle when held and is a sweet and gentle dog.

Brown Brown and her best friend were brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter on October 29, 2014 as “evidence” dogs.  Her friend was adopted several months ago, leaving poor Brown Brown behind.  She is a 7 year old, spayed female German Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. 

Life has not been kind to Brown Brown.  Now she sits along in her cage, still hopeful that something wonderful will happen to her.  She is a sweet, gentle dog who is described as very friendly.  She walks great on-leash.

Sunshine will light up your life, if you just give her a chance.  Hard to imagine this dog as a stray, and yet, she was found wandering the streets on March 11, 2014 and was brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter.

Sunshine is an 8 year old, spayed female American Bulldog mix.  She weighs 62 pounds.  Sunshine is, without a doubt, on of the sweetest dogs that you will ever meet.  She is very small and gentle.  She walks pretty well on-leash and is very attentive to her person.  She loves to get a massage and will give kisses in return.

Argo is one of the most spectacular dogs that you will ever meet.  He exemplifies the elegance and grandeur that is a German Shepherd.  Argo is a 7 year old male, black and tan dog.  He was found as a stray on February 26, 2014 and brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter.  He weighs 68 pounds.

Ace is one of the most amazing, fun dog that you will ever meet.  He is a 3 year old, neutered male American Bulldog.  He weighs 58 pounds.  Ace has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since March 21, 2014.

To really know Ace, you have to see him in action…short action, that is!  In the yard, Ace will lope around the yard like a greyhound, then stop and take a well-deserved rest.  Just to watch him go through this will make you double over with laughter.  He gives you a look as if to say “Time out for a rest.”  He is a playful, low-energy dog.
