"Amelia" Is Special!

It's Amelia's beauty that will first catch your eye. Getting to know her will be the fun part because Amelia is a very special dog. Amelia is a 4 year old, female American Pit Bull Terrier. She weighs 53 pounds. Amelia was found as a stray and has been at the West Los Angeles Animals shelter since June 8, 2013.
Amelia is a smart dog who is ver responsive to direction. She is a high energy dog, but she calms down very quickly after she has had a chance to work off some of her energy running around the yard. She loves to be around people and a belly rub always feels good.
"Maggie" Needs a Home!

She belonged! Once she was part of the family, but when they decided to move, they left her behind. Maggie was brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter on August 31, 2013. Maggie is an 8 year old, unaltered female, tan and white American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She weighs 75 pounds.
The shelter is a scary place on this gentle, sweet dog. She has only known family and now she is surrounded by unfamiliar sounds and people. Maggie's previous owner described her as friendly and okay in the car and on-leash.
"Cody" Is Cool!

Cody is pure elegance in motion! He is a 3 year old, neutered male, brown and black Doberman Pinscher/Greyhound mix. He weighs 78 pounds. Cody has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since July 7, 2013.
Cody is a very regal dog who is easy to handle because he walks well with his person on a loose leash and is very calm. He is always anxious to get out of his kennel and into the yard. Fortunately he has many volunteers who love him and have made comments like "great dog" about him. He has a beautiful galloping gait when he runs in the yard. On walks through the neighborhood, he has done beautifully.
Happiness is "Clarissa"

She weighs 47 pounds. Clarissa was found as a stray on August 26, 2013, and brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter where she eagerly waits for her "forever" home.
My Darling "Clementine"

Clementine's eyes are pleading with someone to take her out of the shelter and into a home of her own, a forever home! Clementine is a 5 year old, spayed female, black Australian Shepherd mix. She weighs 45 pounds.
Clementine has been at the West Los Angeles Shelter since August 13, 2013. She was surrendered by her owner who described her as a "great dog." They further added that she was very friendly with people, but has a tendency to snap at other dogs.
"Chrissy" Cuddles!

Chrissy is an 8 year old, spayed female, brown and white smooth-coated Chihuahua. Chrissy has been at the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter since June 3, 2013…much too long!!
Chrissy is a sweet dog who loves to be the "mama dog" in her cage. She worries and watches over the other dogs that she shares space with. She gets along fine with everyone, but she has taken on the role of "mama." Chrissy loves to be held and cuddled and is truly a lap dog. She is a very nurturing dog, even in this very stressful environment that she is forced to live in.
"Sugar" Sweet

Sugar sweet is the best way to describe this little dog. Sugar is a 10 year old, unaltered female, tan smooth-coated Chihuahua. She weighs 9 pounds. Sugar and her lifelong companion were surrendered to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter on August 3, 2013, because her owners were moving. Her friend has already been adopted, leaving Sugar behind to wait for her forever home.
Sir "Patrick"

Patrick is quite the boy! He is an unaltered male, blue and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was found as a stray on July 17, 2013 and brought to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter. Patrick is a big boy and weighs 70 pounds.
Patrick is a strong dog, but he is easy to take out of his run at the shelter. He walks well on-leash. He really enjoys being able to trot around the yard with his person. He knows his commands of Sit, Stay, Down and Giving High Five. He enjoys his treats and will learn much more quickly if there is a treat waiting for him.
 "Roxy" Is A Survivor!

Roxy had a home once! She even had a best friend names Tiger, a 12 year old Shepherd mix, that she had grown up with. In a brief moment, it was all lost. Her owner died in a tragic accident, and Roxy and her friend were surrendered to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter on August 26, 2013. Tiger was adopted within days, and not Roxy is all along.
Roxy is a 12 year old, spayed female, black and tan Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix. She weighs 75 pounds, however, appears quite thin and is on extra meals. She has a great appetite.
"Austin" Is Awesome!

He must have wandered away from home, but they didn't come looking for him. One june 4, 2013, the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter became Austin's new home…a temporary one, he hopes. Austin is a 5 year old, neutered male, brown and white smooth-coated Chihuahua. He weighs 11 pounds.
Austin is a sweet little dog who is shy at first, but he warms up quickly to become your best friend. He loves to be cuddled and held. He is housebroken. He gets along fine with other dogs and shares space with them at the shelter. Austin is a staff favorite for obvious reasons.
